The launch ceremony brought together companies based in the Gwangju Free Economic Zone (GJFEZ) to build a system of mutual cooperation and to connect companies' practical views to administration and policy. It was attended by Gwangju Mayor Kang Gi-jung, heads of tenant companies and officials from related organisations.

Suryong Industrial is a manufacturer located in the Gwangju Free Economic Zone, and by attending the ceremony it reaffirmed its commitment to building Gwangju's future industry ecosystem. In particular, it plans to contribute actively to the development of the zone through close cooperation and a stronger network with a wide range of local companies.

In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Kang Gi-jung stressed that "the Gwangju Free Economic Zone will go beyond an industrial complex to become the centre of an advanced economic ecosystem where future mobility, artificial intelligence and energy industries converge," adding that "the tenant companies council will be an important channel for reflecting companies' voices directly in city administration."

Han Tae-young, CEO of Suryong Industrial, said, "We hope the launch of this council will further energise cooperation among manufacturers in the region," adding, "We will continue to make a real contribution to the local economy."

The launch of the council is highly significant in that the Gwangju Free Economic Zone is shifting from a mere production space to a company-centred, mutually beneficial innovation platform. As a local company growing together with Gwangju's strategic industries, Suryong Industrial will continue to take an active part in a variety of council activities.
