At Suryong Industrial, we thoroughly analyse these environmental factors for our Allpum cable ties and run a strict quality management system to deliver products that keep performing reliably.
Seasonal factors that affect cable tie performance
1. Temperature changes and material properties
Cable ties are mainly made from nylon (Nylon 6/6). Nylon offers excellent durability and flexibility, but its performance can vary with seasonal temperature changes.
Hot summer conditions
As the outside temperature rises, nylon molecules become more active and flexibility increases. Long exposure to high temperatures can cause the material to stretch or weaken, which can lead to lower durability.
Cold winter conditions
As temperatures fall, nylon becomes hard and easy to break. This brittleness increases the risk of breakage, especially below freezing.
Our Allpum cable ties are designed to deform as little as possible even under extreme temperature changes, delivering stable performance all year round.
2. Humidity and moisture absorption
Nylon is hygroscopic: it absorbs moisture from the surrounding air, which can change its physical properties.
- High humidity When nylon absorbs moisture it becomes more flexible, but its physical strength can drop. This reduces the cable tie's ability to hold tension and can cause the product to deform over long use.
- Low humidity In dry conditions, moisture evaporates from the nylon, making the product harder and more brittle. This can increase the risk of breakage on industrial sites or outdoors.
Allpum cable ties use nylon resin that stands up well to changes in humidity, so they keep performing in a wide range of environments.
3. UV exposure and material degradation
Cable ties used outdoors can degrade through exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light.
- Effects of UV exposure With continuous UV exposure, nylon loses strength, its colour fades and its physical performance can decline.
- UV protection Allpum cable ties contain a UV stabiliser that minimises deformation and loss of performance even after long exposure to sunlight.
4. Seasonal variation in injection moulding
Cable tie quality is also strongly affected by the injection moulding process.
Process control in summer
When the temperature inside the plant rises, it affects the moulding machine's temperature settings and can cause variation in product quality. We control the cooling rate to keep product quality consistent.
Process control in winter
Faster cooling in winter can make the product harder, but internal stress can increase and weaken durability.
We give Allpum cable ties sufficient stabilisation time after moulding to strengthen their durability.
Choosing the right cable tie for each season
Our Allpum cable ties come in a range of product types suited to seasonal conditions.
| Product type | Features | Best season |
|---|---|---|
| High-temperature cable ties | Keep their durability and resist deformation in hot summer conditions | Summer |
| Low-temperature cable ties | Stay flexible in winter and resist brittleness | Winter |
| UV-resistant cable ties | Keep their strength under UV exposure, suitable for long-term outdoor use | Outdoor work, all seasons |
| Humidity-resistant cable ties | Made from material that deforms little with changes in humidity, for indoor and outdoor use | Suitable both indoors and outdoors |
